Previously, on You Go Girl 3D…. I wrote about all about serious stuff y’all. Serious stuff. Personal growth, makeup tutorials, my journey with Younique… you know! Me trying to be informative and helpful.  Well today is no different!  Today’s post is a fresh perspective of the art of drinking wine from a Pringles can.

The Background

If you do not know the background on this new phenomenon, it goes like this.  A woman in Wichita Falls, TX was banned from all Walmarts for life.  For LIFE y’all!  FOR LIFE!!!  When I saw the someone was banned for life, I figured she must have committed a super serious crime to be banned for life!!!  What was her infraction?  Driving around the parking lot on a motorized buggy drinking wine out of a Pringles can.

There are so many directions we could go with this.  First off, I feel her. Let’s face it. As humans in today’s society, we could use some serious down time. For me, it’s those days when everyone wants to yell at the PTA president (me), my kids are acting like maniacs, my house looks like a tornado hit, the hubs coming home and says “do you mind if I ask you what you did all day”… I could go on.  Can you relate?? I sure can!!  On any of these days, driving around a parking lot on a scooter ALL BY MYSELF for 3 hours sounds divine.  Add wine and it just might be heaven.

Pringles and Wine

I have to admire her ingenuity.  If I was going to camouflage wine, I don’t think I would have gone this route. Or maybe I should say I have not gone this route!!! A Pringles can… hmmm….  This got me thinking.  She might just be borderline genius in my book.  First off, Pringles rock!  A nice tasty treat and depending on the flavor, it really could bring out the nuances in the wine.  Second, the cans are lined so they don’t leak or disintegrate even liquids in them.  The large can I bet will hold close to a bottle of wine.  It actually is a pretty good hiding container for those much-needed wine days.

My big question was how does the flavor of Pringles effect the taste of the wine.  Don’t worry!  I did a taste test for y’all!  Here are my results.

The test

I purchased the snack size sampler pack.  It contains Sour Cream and Onion, Cheddar Cheese, Regular, and BBQ.  For this particular use, I recommend using name brand for quality. And by quality, I do mean of the can not the actual chip. The Walmart cans at my location were all dented.

I opened one of each of the flavors, ate the chips of course, and then set myself up for testing purposes.  First thing I noticed was the smell in each can. I thought the smell would be distinctive to the flavor. Without the chips, they all smelt the same.   I emptied what I could of the crumbs but did not wash the containers.  There were remnants left.

Only the name brand will do for this purpose
I left some of the crumbs in the container

I had a small 35ml bottle of red that someone had given me a while back.  This was perfect.  It fit almost the entire bottle in the snack size container.  I put the lid back on the container to see how well it held the wine.  It definitely drips.  Not a lot, but enough to where I would be reluctant to use these as long-term travel wine cups.

The results are in

Now to the tasting.  Here are the results from my video….What I found is that unless there were crumbs around the rim, I could not taste the remnants or the flavor of the chips.  Brilliant!

My findings – well done Wichita Falls lady!  I hope with all the press you got Walmart, they might reduce your life long ban.  Oh, and Pringles owes you a pretty good kick back as well!

Off to Walmart I go!
